Ellinomatheia Exams

(Kids/Teens/Adults)

Following the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) standards across all levels—A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2, students of the Greek language worldwide can sit the examination of the certificate of attainment in Greek (Ellinomatheia Exams). The official institution authorized by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs to conduct the exams is the Centre for the Greek Language in Thessaloniki.

Private, semi private & group classes tailored for the Modern Greek Certificate preparation of all different levels.

Course Duration 

A full academic year (34-36 weeks) is needed for any level to be covered. Weekly hours depend on several factors (age, learning pace etc), but we suggest; 1-2 hours/week for private classes, 2 hours/week for semi private & 3 hours/week for group classes.

Exam schedule

The examination for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek is held once every year in mid-May, in 165 examination centres worldwide. The dates are common for all examination centers. Results are announced to all candidates via email by the end of July.

GCSE Modern Greek Exam 

(Teens)

Following the requirements of the GCSEs (as it is commonly known), this course provides full preparation for all 4 Papers (Reading-Listening-Speaking-Writing) of the Greek GCSE and A-Levels exams by Pearson Edexcel held in the school of UK, Wales & Ireland. The duration of the exam preparation varies according to the students’ needs, strengths and weaknesses. Suggested timeline is 2 years of preparation, with the second one more intensive.

GCSE

Exetaseis Ithageneias - Greek Citizenship Test

(Adults)

The Greek Citizenship test is the final step for those who wish to become a Greek citizen. It takes place twice a year, in November and March. The test consists of 4 sections of Greek Language knowledge (Reading Comprehension, Writing skills, Listening & Speaking) & one section of questions about Greek culture, politics, geography and history. The second part of the process is an interview. Based on all the resources provided for this test by the Greek Ministry of The Interior, this course will provide you with the essential skills to pass the test and achieve your goal. 

The suggested time for preparation is half to one year, depending on the level of the student.
